Board Meeting Minutes - October 18, 2018

Present:

  • Pam Merchanthouse, Vice President (Friends Fellowship Community)
  • Dakota Collins, Secretary (City of Richmond)
  • Jenie Lahmann (Morrisson-Reeves Library
  • Tim Love (Reid Hospital & Health Care Services)
  • Richard Peterson (Porter Advertising, LLC)
  • Rob Tidrow, (Richmond Community Schools)
  • Jane Holman (Executive Director, WayNet.org, Ex-Officio)

Absent:

  • Chris Mopps (Richmond Power and Light)
  • Lynn Knight, (Earlham College)

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order by Vice President Pam Merchanthouse at approximately 12:10 at the North Complex of Reid Health. Tim Love welcomed the board to the facility.

Old Business

Approval of Minutes

Tim Love motioned for the approval of the July 19, 2018 meeting minutes which was seconded by Jenie Lahmann and passed unanimously.

Election of Officers

The slate of officers was presented as follows: Dakota Collins, President; Pam Merchanthouse, Vice President/Treasurer; Rob Tidrow, Secretary. Richard Peterson moved that the board accept and elect the slate. Tim Love seconded and the Board elected the slate unanimously.

New Business

Balance Sheet Review

Jane Holman shared the Balance Sheet and budget projections for the remainder of 2018 and part of 2019. The Board recognized a need for a formal retreat to discuss the future of the organization and set the date for November 15, 2018.

Director's Report

Jane Holman shared the Director's Report. Among other items, Jane shared that Richmond Neighborhood Restoration joined as a new member and the Wayne Bank was removed from member rolls as they had not paid their dues.

Adjournment:

There being no further business, Jenie Lahmann motioned to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Tim Love and unanimously approved.

Did You Know?

Wilbur Wright, co-inventor of the airplane with his brother, Orville, attended school in Richmond, Indiana. His family moved to Dayton, Ohio in June of 1884 just before he would have received his diploma from Richmond High School. The diploma was awarded to him posthumously on April 16, 1994.
