Free Tax Assistance
Get FREE tax assistance on Tuesdays and Thursdays though April 15, 2008 at Morrisson-Reeves Library. AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For speed and efficiency, bring last year's tax return.


Birth to Five Playgroups
Birth to Five, Inc. has organized playgroups for nearly all neighborhoods and communities in Wayne County.  This is a great opportunity to help your little ones learn to socialize. These playgroups include an hour of play for children 0 to kindergarten with lots of age appropriate toys available for play and story time at end of playgroup. There must have caregiver present at all times.

Wine Talk
For 3 Fridays, beginning March 14th, Wayne County Visioning is sponsoring "Wine Talk", a fun combination of learning and entertainment.  You'll learn about the history of wine and basic wine making techniques, as well as what goes best with red and white wine...and why.  Enjoy wine tasting and hors díoeuvres at this event as well! Softball Signup
Richmond Parks and Recreation is now taking registrations for Youth Softball.
     *Slow Pitch and Fast Pitch Leagues for any girl 16 & Under.

     *Tee Ball League for Boys and Girls age 4 - 6.
     *Cost is $30.00 per child with NO FUNDRAISER! Register at the Glen Miller Park office until March 28th.
     *Adult softball industrial, commercial and mixed leagues are now forming, with registration deadline of April 7th.

If you prefer to accomplish a project while you're getting your exercise, volunteer your time the morning of March 29th to help beautify the community we live in. You can make a big difference! Please bring your own work gloves.  Sign in at Bicentennial Park (Sim Hodgin Parkway & Bridge Avenue in Richmond).  Clean up will be from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

Word-of-mouth is truly the best advertising.

On the Internet word-of-mouth is called Linking. When someone puts a link from their web site to your web site, they, in effect, recommend you.

Linking is a great way to get traffic. In fact, itís just about the perfect way to get traffic. The cost is zero. Linking also helps with your search engine ranking.

Generally, the more sites that point people to your web site the better. Google in particular takes notice of the number of links to your web site. The quality of those sites also makes a difference. The better the search engine ranking of a web site that links to you, the more it benefits your own ranking.

In terms of search engine marketing, this is called Link Popularity. Itís a measure of how many other web sites link to your site. When someone searches a relevant keyword, search engines factor in link popularity to determine which web sites appear as natural listings, and how high they show up in the pecking order.
