The March 1, 2003 retreat at Morrison-Reeves Library was briefly reviewed by President Hardie.

Old Business

Executive Director Holman reviewed the current Balance Sheet showing a negative number. But she said several billings will be going out this month.

New Business

Executive Director Holman presented her report. Referring to the financial picture, she said WayNet has lost a sponsoring member as well as a commerce member. She said we need to work harder to replace them.

In discussing the Community Calendar, the Executive Board authorized the Executive Committee to draft a revised policy for a more comprehensive calendar. The Executive Board will then vote on it via e-mail.

The Executive Board also granted the Executive Committee authority to develop a new policy to regulate the use of WayNet photos. It will then be submitted to the Executive Board for approval. The measure was moved by Tom Kemp and seconded by Tom Kirk.

Jane also reported on the WayNet survey that was mailed to the membership last week. She said 35 surveys have been received so far. She said preliminary tabulations show 18 listed WayNet a very good value, while 12 said it was a good value and 4 a reasonable value. Chris said after we have the results, we'll be able to start making improvements to our website.

Tom Kirk reported on the "Artists of Wayne County" grant. He said we received half of what was requested. He said an advisory committee will be put together to help with ideas on how to proceed. He said there is also the issue of software to manage the pages of the "arts encyclopedia."
