Advertising/Marketing/Community Relations

  • Wayne County Connections TV Show (Viewers directed back to website /Page)
    • Taped 1 show segments:
    • June show taped this week and will feature Richmond Neighborhood Restoration: Eric Nicholson, guest.
    • The WC Connections page received 19 pageviews from 18 users from May 16 through April 18 per Google Analytics.
  • Twitter - we now have 2,341 followers. Have sent 4,206 tweets. During May, we had 6,025 impressions, and 3 new followers.
  • Facebook - 1,639 people "like" our Facebook page (3.9% increase), 76% are female, 23% male.
  • Our Flickr account regularly receives 500 to 1,600 views daily. Occasionally, we will have an anomaly and it bursts up to 20,000+ in one day. Our 15,915 photos have received 4,446,020 views since we joined in 2005. We have 199 followers.
  • Our Instagram account (@waynet_org) has 115 posts, 409 followers and 361 following.

Issues & Projects for May / June

  • Received RFP responses.
  • "Played" with new calendar version. Need to find a two-day time frame to work on the conversion.
  • Continued trying to do planned social media postings once a week -at least 1 on Sunday evening. This has resulted in an up-tick in "Likes".
  • Update Monitor Calibration, using Jane's equipment.
  • (This has been "on hold" this month) Still wrestling with Google Search. Still searching for solution to the fact that Google can't "see" our new calendar". Updated robot.txt file, but doesn't seem to have solved the issue.
  • Vacation Day on June 17

  • Update several "Spotlight" pages to "new" verson, so I could link to them.
  • Technical issues:
    • Still searching for fix for "robots.txt" issue that Google is returning for our calendar section. Any help appreciated!

    My To-Do List:

    • Still need to work on transfering data from Access into a Google Spreadsheet so we don't lose the information.
    • Website Overhaul - review log analysis, research technical options and trending layouts
    • Ongoing: Schedule guests for County Connections.
    • Ongoing: Make calls on members/potential members
    • Ongoing: Continue to review & update web pages.
    • Prepare & Mail invoices and statements each month, Accounts Receivable
    • Ongoing - Review files for clean up using Screaming Frog SEO spider and Optimizr.com.
    • Set up Internship/Volunteer Program

    Did You Know?

    The first county seat in Wayne County was located in Salisbury, a town that no longer exists. The county seat was moved to Centerville in 1818 and finally to Richmond in 1873.
