WAYNET SEMINAR
WayNet's monthly seminar will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, April 12 at 12 noon in the Auditorium at RP&L at 2000 U.S. 27 South. Topic for this month is Adobe Photoshop Basics - however, the skills learned in this program will transfer to other image software programs also.

This seminar is open to all WayNet members and their employees. Fee-waived members are requested to pay $5.00/attendee.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Levi Coffin House has put out the call for volunteers. Volunteers are needed to interpret the history of Levi and Catharine Coffin and their involvement with the Underground Railroad.

Volunteers give tours of the Levi Coffin House, including the eight rooms of the house and the barn. The interpretation covers the Coffin's involvement in the Underground Railroad, their Quaker beliefs and the house which has been restored to the time period.

The main requirement is a willingness to learn the history of the site; a friendly manner and the ability to relate to people of all ages. For more information, call Saundra Jackson at (765) 847-2432 or email her at coffinhs@infocom.com.

QUICK LEVI COFFIN FACTS:

• The Levi Coffin House page on WayNet received over 3,600 hits last month.
• The Levi Coffin House Association is run entirely by volunteers.
• While the Levi Coffin House is the best known, many area homes served as "stops" along the Underground Railroad.
• One of the many slaves who hid in the Coffin home was "Eliza", whose story is told in the book, Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
• Conner Prairie in Fishers, Indiana, a living-history museum has a unique "first-person" program to teach students ages 12 and up about the Underground Railroad. Conner Prairie is owned by Earlham College, a local Quaker college established in 1847.
