The Abram Gaar Mansion is a beautiful example of Second Empire architecture.  It was built in 1876 for Abram and Agnes Gaar.  Abram was the president of the manufacturing company, Gaar, Scott & Company in Richmond, Indiana that produced threshing machinery.
