Charles Newcomb Mural at the Hagerstown Museum and Arts Place

Murals are not new to Wayne County, Indiana!  This mural is located on the 2nd floor of the Odd Fellows Hall, now the Hagerstown Museum and Arts Place at 96 1/2 East Main Street in Hagerstown, Indiana.  It was painted by local artist, Charles Newcomb in 1913.

The mural, which extends around the room above the wainscoting, seems to have been inspired by Maxfield Parrish's mural "Girls Dining Room" in the Curtis Building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
