The original owner of this home, newly opened as a guest house, was world famous rosarian, E.G Hill.  The Hills were Richmond entrepreneurs of the mid 1800’s.  The former Hill House is classified as a Stick Victorian style home.   Mr. Hill added personal flourishes to the early 1800’s farmhouse he purchased in the 1870’s. He and his family lived on the west side, while his business partner and sister, Sarah, lived on the east side.
