Main Street Richmond-Wayne County is now accepting applications for the "An Uptown Christmas Story" parade, which will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 11:00 a.m. The parade will begin at the intersection of East Main and 14th Street and end at the City Building. The application deadline is Monday, November 24; there is no charge to participate. Since this year's theme is "An Uptown Christmas Story", we are encouraging people to choose their favorite Christmas story and let their imagination go.
Main Street RWC has also, once again, teamed up with the Marine Corps Reserves for a toy drive to benefit Toys for Tots. Collection bins will be placed along the parade route to collect new toys from families and individuals attending the parade. Thera Lohmoeller, Special Events Coordinator, Main Street RWC, "This is a great way to teach our children about the true meaning of the holidays; giving and helping others."
