Dear Jane , Wasn`t there a forum to talk to the Mayor ? But anyway , would you happen to have any information if the city intends on doing something about South L st. between so. 5th and so.8th street ? The last I heard they were working with CSX railroad and had given them a deadline as of last June to fix the tracks or the city would and bill them for it . This street is the worst in the city But anywho any info would be welcomed . Thanks Dan

Hi Dan,

I've passed your message along to the Mayor's office. They are working on an answer to your question and I'll let you know as soon as I hear something. Thanks! Jane

Mr. Smith,

The City of Richmond contacted CSX Railroad this past summer to request that the railroad tracks on South L Street be fixed. The City stated in the improvement order that CSX had a deadline to fix the tracks and if it was not repaired in a certain amount of time then the City would make the repairs and bill CSX. In July CSX responded, proposing CSX give the City property in exchange for fixing the tracks. CSX has provided a design that has been approved by the City Engineer. The final overlay to asphalt the street from South 5th to South 8th will occur, to complete the project, this spring.

Dan, I hope this helps. I'm sorry it took so long to respond.

Sincerely,
Shelley Miller

Shelly,
I just wanted to say that my Husband and I have just move to 1428 South 4th street and we have to cross these tracks to go just about anywhere in town. They upset me ever ytime I drive over them. Could you please keep me posted on the correction of this problem? My e-mail address is annie_mxpx@yahoo.com.
Thanks for your time and cooperation!
