Hey waynet how about a live chat room ? Anyone else agree ?
i think a richmond chat room would be great. i grew up in richmond,it would be a great way for me to talk with or find old friends. i also think a classified ad would be great.
I agree! A chat room would be nice. It could really be useful in welcoming newcomers, finding old friends, even including the youth.
does anyone in this forum who runs the show here ever read what we write here ? If you do how about some kind of feed back ! It would be helpful to know that you do have some concern for how people feel about your website ! but I think you think " oh well its here so do and say what you will no one care how you feel" Am I right ? lets here from you now ! thank you !
Hello Mr. Smith,
Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Yes, I do read the messages posted on Talk of the Town.
A bit of background for you....WayNet is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote Richmond and Wayne County on the Internet. WayNet is governed by a 12 member board of directors and is created and managed by a half-time executive director - myself. Our funding comes entirely from memberships.
Unfortunately, while our funding is sufficient for the basics, it does not allow the time needed to add and manage the frills, such as chat. WayNet needs the assistance of all our visitors in helping to spread the word about the importance of becoming a WayNet member and supporting WayNet.
I hope you will continue to "meet" and talk with others here on Talk of the Town.
Regards,
Jane Holman, WayNet Executive Director
Dan,
Although, I am new to this site. I think this could really be a useful tool in the Richmond Area.
Let's keep it going!!!
Thanks,
Ruby Swafford
I plan to move to Richmond in the near future, and I visit Waynet almost daily to try and learn more about the community. One thing I would like to see is more news about what the town is doing in the way of improvements, new businesses, and new apartments, etc. I know there was a meeting the other night about some future development, but do not know how the meeting turned out.
It would also be interesting to hear more from the people about what they feel are the good points in Richmond; what they like about their city.
