Adolescent
Parent Support (APS) Program
The Adolescent Parent Support (APS) Program of the YWCA provides resource and referral
services and emotional support to pregnant and parenting teens in Wayne and Union
Counties. These services are provided at no cost to the teen. APS seeks to identify the most pressing needs of the teen and then offers
assistance through education and referrals to the community support services.
The primary objectives of APS are to increase the pregnant teens chances for a full
term delivery of a healthy child, encourage the teen to stay in school or work toward a
GED, and to foster healthy parenting behaviors.
Referrals are taken at the YWCA at (765)
966-0538.

Community
Builders Study Circles Program
Community Builders
are citizens of Richmond who are concerned and committed to deliberative
democratic processes that promote open dialogue with the goal of
eliminating racism and building a healthy, secure, multicultural
community.
- The Community
Builders organization is working to achieve a community that values
the dignity of each person.
- The Study Circle
process encourages attitude and behavior changes through education
and dialogue. In part, this can be done through groups of
people sharing their beliefs and life experiences using the study
circle format as a tool.
- Our office is
located at the Y.W.C.A.
- We are not currently
funded by the Y.W.C.A.
- Eliminating
racism is our first focus!
