Richmond Celebrates Bicentennial OrnamentRichmond Celebrates...Bicentennial!
It's time to party!  From Friday, August 11th to Sunday, August 20th, Richmond will celebrate the bicentennial of its founding by the Quaker settlers,
John Smith and Jeremiah Cox, in 1806.  Planned are 2 parades, children's, senior's & youth events, home and church tour, a beer garden, entertainment, an all-alumni RHS reunion, and since it's a birthday party - ice cream and cake!

Event Highlights include:

  • Moonlight Parade - 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12th
  • Church and Home Tour - 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 13th
  • Opening Ceremonies - 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15th
  • Military Day, Mayor's Breakfast, President Benjamin Harrison Tree Dedication on Wednesday, August 16th
  • Beer Garden, Concessions, Crafts, Artists, Daily Entertainment - August 16th - August 19th
  • Senior Day - Various Events - on Thursday, August 17th
  • Starr-Gennett Auto Tour CD Kickoff - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18th
  • Youth Day - Firefighter Challenge, Children's Parade, Skateboard Contest, Fun Fest, Takin' It To the Streets - on Saturday, August 19th
  • Grand Bicentennial Parade - 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20th
  • Bicentennial Birthday Celebration with Ice Cream and Cake! - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20th
